The Centre for Evidence Based
Pharmacotherapy (CEBP) was set up
in July 1995 to undertake critical and
systematic evaluations of available
evidence on the safety, efficacy and
cost-effectiveness of human
medicines. The importance of such
studies for underpinning drug licensing
and policy decisions is being
increasingly recognised by both
governments and pharmaceutical
companies. Originally set up at
Nottingham University and Aston
University, the CEBP is now an
independent organisation
